After a terrible accident, most people would spend day and night at their husband's side, praying for him to pull through. To wake up.
Dawson isn't most people. Then again, it's not unreasonable to want to be rid of the man who's made your life a living hell for the past six years.
Except when Cal wakes up, he's nothing like the man who'd put bruise after bruise on Dawson's body and shattered his soul. Cal has no memory of any of that. He remembers nothing, including his own name.
Dawson should walk away. Cal might not remember, but Dawson does. He remembers everything. By all rights, he should run and never look back.
What he absolutely should not do is start falling for him, for this man who wears his husband's face but feels like home, not like someone Dawson should fear.
It might make him the most horrible person on the planet, but if Dawson had one wish, he'd wish for Cal's memories to never come back.

The following section will contain mild spoilers, but I feel like it needs to be said, especially for the people who have experienced an abusive relationship. The spoilers shouldn't take away from enjoying the book, the premise is quite straightforward anyway.

As this is a paranormal story, there's a body takeover (possession, if you will) when Dawson's (MC 1) abusive husband ends up in hospital after an accident and dies from his injuries. The entity overtaking the husband's body is a reaper (MC 2), except no one, including Dawson, is aware of this. That means that while Dawson slowly falls for the reaper over the course of the book, he's under the impression that he's falling in love with his abusive husband and goes through a whirlwind of emotions, trying to figure out if he can forgive and start anew.
I already promised you a HEA, so you can have a guess how it goes ;)

Please, keep in mind that I wrote this book to tell a love-story, to give those two a happy ending they deserve, which means I had to shut the lid on many of my beliefs and opinions while working on this book. I'm not a forgiving person, and I don't believe that abusers deserve second chances. If you've been or are in an abusive relationship, please don't look for excuses for the person who's been hurting you and don't wait for them to change.

That being said, I hope you like reading this love-story as much as I liked writing it.
